Kirby Decor: Complete Brand Identity & Website

Client: Sean Kirby, Kirby Decor Founder
Project Type: Complete Brand Identity + Wix to Squarespace Migration
Duration: 2 weeks initial build, ongoing relationship for updates

A South London painting and decorating company needed more than a website refresh. Sean Kirby approached me to transform Kirby Decor's entire digital and visual presence—migrating from a limiting Wix platform to Squarespace whilst creating a brand identity that could work across everything from business cards to sports team uniforms.

The Challenge

Kirby Decor was established with a solid reputation for quality painting and decorating work, but their digital presence wasn't reflecting their professionalism. The existing Wix website was difficult to update, lacked mobile responsiveness, and couldn't showcase their portfolio effectively.

Beyond the website, they had no cohesive visual identity. As the business grew and opportunities emerged—from employee merchandise to sports team sponsorship—the lack of a professional brand system became increasingly apparent. The project required solving both immediate needs (a functioning website) and long-term goals (a scalable brand identity).

Strategic Approach: Platform Migration with Purpose

Rather than simply recreating the existing site on a new platform, I approached the Wix to Squarespace migration strategically. This was an opportunity to rethink how the site served Kirby Decor's business goals.

The domain transfer and platform migration needed to happen seamlessly—no broken links, no lost search rankings, no downtime that would cost enquiries. I managed the technical transition whilst simultaneously rebuilding the site structure with improved information architecture.

Visual Identity: Crisp, Modern, Professional

The logo design needed to communicate quality and professionalism whilst remaining simple enough to work across varied applications—from letterhead to employee hoodies to sports uniforms for the London hurling club Kirby Decor sponsors.

I developed a clean, modern visual identity system using a refined colour palette and straightforward typography. The aesthetic choice—crisp rather than ornate, modern rather than traditional—positioned Kirby Decor as contemporary professionals, not old-school tradesmen.

This identity extended across all touchpoints: business cards that clients would keep, letterhead for professional correspondence, and stationery that reinforced brand consistency in every interaction.

Website Design: Showcase and Convert

The Squarespace build focused on two primary goals: showcase previous work effectively and make it easy for potential clients to get in touch.

I created a portfolio showcase structure that presented completed projects with professional imagery and clear descriptions. Rather than a simple gallery, each project demonstrated the range and quality of Kirby Decor's work.

The service brochure pages explained what Kirby Decor offers without overwhelming visitors. Clear calls to action throughout the site guided interested clients toward contact—whether by phone, email, or contact form.

Mobile responsiveness wasn't an afterthought; it was central to the design. Potential clients researching painters whilst scrolling on their phones needed the same seamless experience as those browsing on desktop.

Beyond Digital: Brand Application

The visual identity's versatility became clear as it extended beyond the website. Employee hoodies and t-shirts created a professional, unified appearance on job sites. The hurling club uniforms showcased the brand in an entirely different context, demonstrating how a well-designed identity adapts whilst remaining recognisable.

The Outcome

The website launched on schedule with full functionality and an improved user experience. The brand identity successfully extended from digital to print to merchandise without losing consistency. Perhaps most importantly, the ongoing relationship continues—regular updates and new print materials demonstrate that the foundation we built supports Kirby Decor's continued growth.

As Sean noted, the strategic approach combined with design expertise resulted in a website that translates to business growth. When your digital presence matches the quality of your actual work, clients notice.

❝ Hiring Anna to revamp my website proved to be a great decision. She smoothly migrated the site to a new host platform and created fresh content for new pages and my portfolio showcase. This not only improved functionality but also allowed for a more sleek, modern design approach. The website is fully responsive, ensuring a seamless user experience across all devices.

Further to the web development, Anna created a cohesive visual identity with a new logo that effectively reflects my brand. This created a consistent and professional look across all pages, strengthening the overall brand image. It also enabled me to use my new brand identity for merch and to display the sports uniforms for the Hurling Club in London.

I believe that Anna's strategic approach, combined with her expertise and eye for design, resulted in a website that not only looks great but also translates to business growth. ❞
